Every year, Dr. Elizabeth Debold, creator of One World Bearing Witness, brings together spiritual leaders, sacred activists, and guides from the different regions of the Earth in a global ceremony of diversity-in-unity. The Big Book religions are represented—rabbi, monk, nun, sheik—as are the many colors of shamanic practice from North and South America, Australia, Africa, Greenland. Over a 24-hour period, as the Earth turns once, these guides invite participants to engage live on Zoom in prayer, ritual, song, meditation. It’s an invitation to a global community of practice.

With so many spiritual and healing events online, why create such a 24-hour event? It’s not about offering information or even just a wonderful experience (which it is), Elizabeth says. The purpose is to create a field of global practice that brings together the various facets of the jewel of Spirit on this planet. Can we create a palpable field of unity across the globe that is actually experienced and recognized by the participants?
