Thomas Steininger in dialogue with Alnoor Ladha
Does life have meaning? We live in a time where the modern understanding of life seems to scramble. The cascade of crises that we are confronted with forces us to question our usual sense of meaning. According to Alnoor Lhada, it even forces us to pose this question in a very different way.
Alnoor Ladha is a founding member of /The Rules, a global network of activists, organizers, designers, coders, researchers, writers and others dedicated to changing the rules that create inequality and poverty around the world. According to him, the modernist western perspective has a built-in filter that seeks complexity and abstraction. This has all its positive sides but real meaning only opens up in the concreteness of sacredness and presence. This is a dimension that the abstract mind is designed to miss, to fail to grasp. The way we look for meaning is part of the reason why we can’t find meaning in life. Somehow, we have to break our glasses to see in a different way.
In this week on Radio evolve, Dr. Thomas Steininger speaks with Alnoor Ladha about meaning and sacredness.
